As we all know, Race Day 3, which was also the day of our Tombola draw at the Legion, had a lot of weather problems which meant some racing was delayed into the evening. The knock-on effect of that meant we had a disappointingly low number attending the Legion due to people not being able to get off the course in time. Despite that we had an amazing night and a huge amount of fun. I’m so sorry that a lot of people planning to come along missed a great night.
Watch the video clips and you’ll see what you missed! Steve Colley is thrilling from afar but up close and personal takes your breath away and he is just awesome. (If you’re wondering what Steve is apologising for at the end, well it’s just one of those times when you should’ve been there!) Thank you again Steve. You’re a real star.
And a big thank you as always to Linda and everyone at the Manx Legion for allowing this invasion! You enabled a whole lot of fun for us all! Thank you again.
The Tombola itself raised £970! Thank you to everyone who donated their £10 and believed they would be the ones enjoying VIP hospitality, but we all know there can be only one winner. And well done to Chester who was our winner! Luckily he was there in the Legion for the draw and has promised to send us a photograph of him and his guest enjoying the day.
Charlie Williams was there to brilliantly compere and also auctioned the quality items we had. He brought another fantastic sum of £605 to the table. He’s another star for sure. Thanks Charlie. And thank you so much to all who donated those prizes. All very much appreciated.
Donations on the door raised £295 in notes and, forgive me, but I’ve yet to count the small mountain of coins in the buckets! I’ll have to get back to you on that!
So all in all £1,870…..plus the small mountain!
